Welcome to my Website

My interest in photography began when my wife and I travelled around the United States on our annual holidays. I wanted to capture images that did justice to the awe-inspiring landscapes we witnessed that could be shared with family and friends, but also images that we could look back on that would bring the memories flooding back of the time we spent there.

I began with using an Olympus compact camera, but outgrew it quickly as I found that the camera simply didn't have the ability to adjust the settings to get the photos I wanted. I then moved onto an Olympus DSLR and, through lots of reading and practice, started to get to grips with what the camera was capable of. Most photographers opt for Canons or Nikons, but I chose the Olympus primarily because the lenses were designed from scratch for digital photography and I have never regretted my choice.

The majority of the photos you see here on the website are taken during what photographers refer to as the 'Golden Hour'. This is roughly the first and last hours of sunlight where the light is softer and produces less contrast. The light also has a warmer hue, which enhances the colours in a scene. Unfortunately this often means being out taking photos at unsociable hours when you would much rather be tucked up in bed, but the results are worth it.

I hope you enjoy the images and thanks for taking the time to look at my website. If you'd like to ask me any questions, please feel free to contact me using the 'Contact' form.
